Ragna Berlin

Gubbe and Snowman (see work 1990-2006) are stone sculptures that precede Ripe. I am intrigued by the idea of transforming the hard and harsh into the soft and touchable. The Romanian sculpture Constantin Brancusi's (1876-1957) ability to unite different shapes and materials is a source of inspiration for me. In Ripe I have combined wood (birch), a blue/green Kålmords marble from Sweden, and a red marble from Portugal.
